Sharks Circling As 2020 Looms Large

With just three weeks remaining in 2019 the bright lights ahead are firmly focused on the Sal’s NBL 2020 season and right now it’s the Southland Sharks making all the noise.

A busy few weeks has netted the Sharks an impressive return of one new coach and four returning players, all of whom could figure in the team's 2020 starting line-up.

With highly-rated coach Rob Beveridge replacing good friend Judd Flavell at the helm, there’s little doubt the Sharks want to get back to the top of the league and their early recruiting form suggests they have their eye on the grand prize.

So far the Sharks have netted Jarrad Weeks, Hyrum Harris, Tom Vodanovich and Dom Kelman-Poto, with all four touted as either starters, or in DKP's case arguably the best performed sixth man if the Sal's NBL's most recent season is anything to go by.

It’s a formidable start to Southland’s plans and given no other team is yet to announce a player, all the early running sits with Invercargill's pride and joy.

That said, a flurry of player signings is on the horizon with the Wellington Saints, Canterbury Rams and Franklin Bulls all set to hit the headlines in the coming week with some player news. For the Bulls, their news may also extend to a coaching announcement as well.
