Hawks Looking For An Assistant Coach

The Hawke’s Bay Basketball franchise is looking for Expressions of Interest for those who would like to be considered as the Assistant Coach of Taylor Hawks Men’s National Basketball League (NBL) team. 

The successful applicant for this voluntary position will have the opportunity to work with the 2021 Head Coach, Adam Forde.  Adam has over 10 years’ experience coaching at an elite level.  He is currently heading into his ninth year in the Australian NBL as the Lead Assistant Coach for the Sydney Kings. 

He was previously with the Perth Wildcats, winning four championships in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, as well as making the Grand Final in 2020.  Adam was also the Lead Assistant Coach under Rob Beveridge with the Australian Emerging Boomers winning Bronze in Naples Italy in the World Universiade Games in 2019.  And the list of credentials goes on. 

This is an ideal opportunity to work in an exciting team environment and learn from the best.

The Assistant Coach will be expected to attend all team trainings, while providing passion and energy in player development workouts.

League knowledge and previous experience in scouting is preferred. Also willingness to learn and provide video reviews and scouting opposition.

As the position is voluntary, the successful applicant may work around primary employment for the role (negotiated with the coaching team) 

Pre-season for the 2021 Sal's NBL season will begin at the start of April, concluding at the end of July 2021.
