Franklin Bulls Set To Charge Into NBL 2020

Just months ago the Franklin Bulls were granted provisional entry into the Sal's NBL for the 2021 season, but today they now find themselves on a recruiting mission after being welcomed into the national league for 2020.

After moving quickly to complete a set of requirements set down by the league, the Bulls are now set to represent South Auckland in next year's competition, and according to NBL General Manager Justin Nelson the entry is largely based on Franklin's determination to succeed.

"The Bulls have hit the ground running, there is no doubt about that," said Nelson.

"Behind the scenes they have focused on resources and skill sets, which are two of the most vital ingredients you have to get right in a sports business.

"We're very mindful of timing and the league will help the Bulls over the coming months get up to speed, but this is a very exciting development for what is an extremely passionate basketball community," Nelson added.

"To be relevant and legitimate, we needed a better presence in the greater Auckland region and we believe the Bulls will bring good things to the league. Our focus is now on a second team in central Auckland, hopefully as soon as season 2021. Creating a rivalry in the Sal's NBL across Auckland is a must."

Featuring eight teams, the 2020 Sal's NBL schedule is expected to be released within the next week.
